Although changing words and phrases are part of the evolutionary process of language, the most recent is a systematic steer towards avoiding "harm" and acknowledging individual sex.
To me, the term "inclusive" refers to the noble goal of making everyone feel like a valued member of our society. However, AI lacks the capacity to set goals and simply repeats what it hears. In its attempt to avoid potentially offensive language, AI sometimes uses alternative phrases that end up causing irritation and becoming a point of contention. This ultimately undermines its intended purpose of promoting inclusivity. In fact, it can even serve as a smokescreen, distracting from the fact that hurtful words can indeed cause harm.
I noticed Grammarly when it appeared. I decided to avoid it. You further convinced me that not only do I want to avoid it, I now want to actively discourage its use when I can. In this, you have done me a service. I believe that I have said all that I can. My previous comment covers what I would say now. I do not think your meaning of "lost in the translation" comports with mine. I think that perhaps I have not properly appreciated the culturally cancerous nature of products like Grammarly. In that, again, I thank you.
I was not keen on your take on Grammarly. That is already too much interfering--if not molestation--of the writer's responsibility as the protector of cultural, social and political traditions as well as suggester of new ideas. This is where the principle of subsidiarity should reach down to the level of the individual thinker. Checking spelling and basic grammar is a sufficient convenience.
Yep. It’s terrifying, Orwellian and totalitarian. Bill Maher last week interviewed John McWhorter, who I love, author of WOKE RACISM. He discussed this language fiasco in depth. Basically: Language has always and will always evolve, change grow...but organically. What’s happening now is the opposite of organic; it’s a direct, concerted effort by a chosen elect woke few in academia who are trying to FORCE linguistic changes to serve a grotesque political agenda. Nasty nasty nasty.

I am not changing anything to comply with this foolishness.
