The policy, which conflicts with Jessica Tapia's beliefs, requires teachers to use students' "preferred pronouns" and hide students' chosen "gender identity" from their parents.
Bravo Teresa Tapia for having the courage and stamina to take the school district to task for discriminatory actions against her (and others). Although this is not to be seen as a win, it is a step forward for courage and truth. This kind of lawsuit is not a small matter for the plaintiff, but it helps so many others who are maybe contemplating one.
Although I do not subscribe to any religion, I support people's rights to belong to a religion and to have their own religious beliefs. That said, it is obvious that the only Abrahamic religion that is actively discriminated against is Christianity, and I find that unacceptable. Those that pretend to not discriminate seem to be the most discriminatory of all. My way or the highway kind of thinking is dangerous to any society.
(Also, because I do not subscribe to any religion does not mean I don't have spiritual beliefs, as I am NOT an atheist, lest anyone try to make that assumption.)
