All I can say is Awesome!!

Thank you for sharing this, and maybe it will help people to be more appreciative of those with special needs. Which is hard with the globalists trying to convince everyone we don't need these type of people in the world, as there's also too many people in the world now. There will unfortunately always be those who will antagonize and bully anyone they feel is inferior.

Which brings to mind a post by MAA or Margaret Anna Alice, How to Be an Upstander, though the article is regarding a personal event and some who were willing to stand up for her, but reminds us to do the same for others.

If you ever find yourself in a situation where you are watching someone hurt another person—whether it be physically, emotionally, or psychologically—please remember how Alicen and Mickey stood up for someone they felt was being unfairly maligned. That they managed to do so with such sensitivity and compassion toward the instigator makes their example of ordinary heroism all the more breathtaking.

And don’t be afraid to ask, “What’s the matter here?”

A branch of my family has the Fragile X syndrome that runs in that side of the bloodline.

The boys are affected, mild to severe.

The girls carry it onto their babies.

It's gone through 3 generations on that line of the family.

They are all my cousins and I find them all to be wonderful to be around.

I love them all and find the ones who suffer with this have the biggest emotions.

Good read, thanks for getting these stories out there.

Cam,

Just a quick note, why this is such A Wonderful Story, You Penned.

Had An Excellent Friend during college days. Taught me body building. He looked like a Greek god. 6'3" 255lbs. Very Intelligent, & with The Sight. Epitomy of A Southern Gentleman.

He competed, placed 6th in his weight-class, & placed 1st Overall.

Worked a short while at one of Arnold's gyms.

Arnold visited & my friend did a day's workout with him.

My friend had an older brother. I don't think Down's but some mental deficit.

Walking home from school one day, the other boys were teasing my friend, telling him, "your brother is retarded "

My friend didn't know what that word meant (in that context, said as a slur, he sensed). His mother explained gently.

His mother always worried who would take care of him. When his parents died, he brought his older brother, into his Living & Loving Home.

He had a genius cat named Jeb (after Stuart. He was a Civil War buff, as all Southerners are).

I met his parents & older brother once. He could recite, in ascending order, every U.S. President & VP, start to finish.

PEACE !

Great essay. A friend had a daughter with Down Syndrome. She was so alive! A joy to be with! I stayed at their home doing a job for a few days and really got to know her. When I did my essay on eugenics, I found a video of Frank Stevens who have traveled to Geneva to talk about having Down Syndrome.

It’s awesome to see parents rise to such challenges, god bless them… but here I have to respectfully disagree… not all parents can meet such demanding challenges … and it’s not just about the parents, it’s about the kid… their life, their future, frustrations, and needs. And as much as we pray and hope, we cannot give that to a severely handicapped child. Why bring on earth that which would suffer for eternity no matter how much love is bestowed upon it? It is the hardest choice for a parent to make in the darkest of hours, but I believe it is a necessary one at times… god forgive me…
