What does this most recent expansion of the federal government mean for the law-abiding, tax-paying American who believes protecting their 2nd Amendment? (12 min read.)
I have these open ended discussions with moderate conservatives and Dem clients several times per year. No amount of conflicting data on vaccines, climate change and/or the assault weapons ban has much effect until it becomes mainstream news. A Quora thread on overseas violent knife vs. gun death statistics after strict gun control suggested that the data analysis and interpretation is key.. similar to how new disease reporting procedures and accounting for vaccinated status (jab+14 days) skewed adverse events and inflated unvaxxed deaths. 30 years of experience with gun control advocates gaslighting law abiding citizens, attaching riders to unrelated bills and attempting to ban ammo for common calibers is cause to log practice time at the range. Keep in mind that the successful strategy is consolidating power through creating a problem and then provoking a reaction, public/private partnerships and emergency declarations to push global solutions to health, economics and social justice. Consider a long term solution: Land trusts and community protective associations (legal campgrounds, regenerative farms and food breadbaskets) to create a safety net for families who lose everything for noncompliance to the technocratic, neoliberal feudal state. It's the horrible drugs that cause permanent brain damage as described by Peter Breggin, Harvard trained Psychiatrist, which send traumatized youth over the edge.
Shrinks routinely use drugs known to cause Parkinsonian Effects on two and three year old children, and hold them in lock down Psychiatric Hospitals, including right here in my town of 50K.
Just imagine how Roto-Rootered their brains must be by the time they are teens.
Kids has traumatic upbringings in past decades and didn't go on murderous rampages simply because no one was engineering this stuff in previous decades.

I got Adult Protective Services asking me what year it was and claiming a dozen eggs, and two pounds of New York Strip along with canned fish, beans and cheese were somehow insufficient.
Of course none of this has anything to do with my landlord's negligence...

As a firm advocate for cherishing the life of the unborn, it is also important to create an environment that supports life after birth—for example, empowering young people to seek and form stable relationships for marriage & child-rearing, and to take responsibility in establishing a home life that provides the financial means to raise their children. I recognize that these words reflect the obvious to many readers, but know that there is a significant proportion of young folks who take the life of their own preborn, or bring a child into the world utterly dependent on government welfare or lacking a significant other with whom to raise that child in a loving household.
Does that mean that they are going to take guns away from the FBI, DHS, and ATF? Those departments are more dangerous than any citizen with a gun. They use guns to trick people, attacking the government and the people. The ATF has killed more dogs than dog catchers have.
I can almost guarantee you that people won't obey the Office of gun violence prevention.

Decent Americans who cherish their freedoms must recognize the significance of our Second Amendment – which serves as a deterrent towards an authoritarian government that wants to repress the Natural rights of its citizens.
Americans have the highest regulated firearms sales then most countries, yet we continue to stand out as the most violent in terms of mass shootings and suicides. So it begs the question: is more gun control really the solution to our gun violence? I agree with you that we must look at the wider picture and address what we really need to deal with as a country, and that is mental health. By nurturing our children and fostering a safe and secure family, we raise well adjusted and secure adults. By telling our children not to bully others and accept differences, we make sure that most feel the extension of that love. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen in many cases, and too many kids fall through the cracks… and become adults with mental health problems…

Another point to consider is that the U.S., compared to other first-world or developed nations (e.g., the G7 nations of Canada, Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany and Japan), has the highest income inequality, and that income inequality might foster an environment of anger and resentment that eventually leads to violence.
The less they do, the better for us all. They really need to focus on (1) protecting our Natural rights and (2) national security—dealing with “friends” and “enemies” in this constantly changing and often unstable world.
