This is exactly how it's worked since I've began watching back in the 70's. They hide nefarious plans within the details of the bill and sell it as one thing until years (not as long anymore) later we find out it's real purpose. Never does it seem they fix any of this legislation, unless someone with enough money and/or knowledge to challenge in the courts and have it deemed unconstitutional and placed into negative law (if that's what it's still called), where they don't strike down the whole bill just the portions deemed unconstitutional.

Of course, E-Verify would not be needed if the government regulators did their job of controlling the border.

The fix for the failure of government is always: More government.

That is an EXCELLENTLY PRESENTED and well thought article on why E Verify... should not be mandated. The fact that a national E-Verify proposal has broad Republican support remains concerning. Enabling such a scheme nationwide is comparable to mandating vaccines and domestic surveillance activity—often, for the Good American and not those in the business of tax evasion or persons living illegally in the country.

Bottom line: Congress should refrain from giving the federal government any further temptation to deprive Americans of the right to privacy and civil liberties. QUOTING and I agree w/ Massie. It seems counter intuitive but I agree. There are so many which actually need to be unpacked because E Verify would use a "computer based" and for all we know Artificial Intelligence covert penetration into the personal of lives of people; for sure how you spend your money,,etc. hacked by Chinese for "credit" purposes. who you voted for, health status, VAXX status,, who knows?.. excellent article..

If this was good for anything or anyone, and actually had a chance of passing into law instead of just being Kabuki Theatre then they wouldn't be pursuing it. This is the upside down world we live in now. This is all nothing, of course, compared to the patent documents I've read regarding what THEY could actually finally impose. It was assured in November last year that the Republicans would only be able to blow smoke up everyone's asses and make a really big "phoney, fake show", as my YouTube bud Johnny Super Tramp used to say, after the most crooked midterms in history. Could anyone with half a brain be looking to this Bozo Show for anything resembling hope?

One of many things that drives this lust for illegal immigration is cheap labor. Industry chases cheap labor around the globe. You can bet the reason for the Uniparty, the Catholic Church, The Chamber of Commerce, and NGO's getting together on this are the benefits of cheap labor and an unskilled workforce.

Plus these people come here with debt they have to work off from the cartels, more money for Mexico. Always follow the money.

Thanks for illuminating the hidden problems of what, on the surface, seems to be a good thing. I would concur that "giving" our morally and ethically corrupt clown show of a government more power (to do ANYTHING), is a bad idea.

I do however know that stopping the flow over the border (at least until an actual wall is completed, and the flood legal immigration through work visas to payback the tech and business class oligarchy for campaign donations) would be greatly reduced if somehow employers were held responsible for employing criminal aliens. I look forward to that well thought out solution.

Excellent write up. A great example of critical thinking here, not just following the herd, even though they may share your values. You laid out some important points that everyone should be aware of.

No matter what Bills they propose, whether Demo or Repub, they need to be diligently scrutinized. We can no longer trust any of them.

Thank you- such an important topic. My understanding is that DeSantis will be implementing E-Verify in Florida, which I very much do not like.

Absolutely a bad idea. Thanks for covering it. Only gives the government another permission slip to trample American's freedom. Based on evidence of past abuses, a guarantee.

1) "Patriot Act", LOL, supposed to save us from terrorists. Americans come home to find homes ransacked. Call police and told the FBI was there doing a warrantless search!

2) FISA which gave green light for the " Russia Collusion Hoax"

3) ATF and FBI illegally using gun applications to track gun purchases.

4) Under guise of "insuurrection", Americans literally rotting in DC gulag without even being arraigned!! With thousands more being persecuted, not prosecuted, by DOJ/FBI

5) Garland declaring peaceful parents protesting children being indoctrinated " domestic terrorists "??

This is America! Surely we can solve this problem without hurting Americans anymore than they have already. They have got to stop stealing our money! We deserve to benefit from the fruits of our labor, not strangers from other countries. We have to fix the whole system, but in the end, it should benefit Americans, not politicians, the corporations, or other countries.
